    What is Nova Exchange?

Nova Standard Crypto Exchange is an exchange platform with a wide range of crypto assets available for trading. We trade from three base markets and we make a particular point of providing excellent and available support.

Is my personal information protected while using Nova Exchange?

Yes, it is. Attack-proof encryption is used by the system that excludes any threat of access or forgery of the electronic wallets and accounts. Bitcoin and other assets are strongly protected and cryptoassets do not save any personal data of the owners and their electronic wallets. Nova Exchange does not share or distribute any information of its users in any way.

Are there any fees for using Nova Exchange?

The Nova Exchange platform enables trading and charge a commission from the trades. The commission amount might depend on the asset type. However, our standard and most common fee is 0.2%.

How quickly does Support Team respond to a request/ticket?

You, the user, and helping you is our top focus. We do our work with this question in mind: "How long would we, ourselves, like to wait for a response?". Response time may vary depending on the time of day and in what timezone you are located, but make no mistake about it; we really want to get to what is worrying you, and solve that issue.

Oh, and we're real humans, guaranteed ;).

Can I change the email associated with my account?

Changing the associated email is possible; You can do so by visiting this page: Change email. Insert your new email and then verify it from your old one. If you cannot access the old email, you have to contact support.

  • What is a crypto asset?

Cryptocurrency or Digital Assets is a digital form of money that can be used just like any other type of money you control. However, this money exists solely on a so called node, a hardware wallet that can be stored on your phone or computer. To store a digital asset you can download its prescribed wallet application onto your device, or keep the coin in an online wallet for quicker and more convenient access. Listed in the Nova Exchange markets there is a great number of assets similar to bitcoin that have the same characteristics of safety and reliability.

You can find a simple explanation of what a crypto asset is and how it works on the following link:
    Information Video

    What are the connected Peers?

A peer is the direct connectivity between nodes (wallets). A network node (wallet) is a connection point (endpoint) that can receive, create, store or send data along distributed network routes. In order to send a transaction, there must be a node that is connected to the peer to peer (P2P) network. A transaction would not complete if peers are not connected.

What does mining/finding new blocks means?

Mining means that a computer hardware is engaging and adding power power to a network adding transaction records to the public ledger called a blockchain (= a chain of blocks, like the pages in a ledger). When mining a new block (like writing posts in a row on a page), transactions are validated and will arrive to their destinations.

Is it legal to use cryptocurrencies and Nova Exchange?

Creating an account at Nova Exchange website and using its services is completely legal. Nova Exchange has all the necessary permissions from European Union authorities to handle and exchange currency and deal with the wide range of cryptoassets we offer. Trading in cryptoassets is legal in most parts of the world, however, local legislation might apply to you. Therefore it is up to every individual to make him-/herself aware and assume personal responsibility for knowing the regulations of the area, nation or state.

How to protect the account and wallet.

Nova Exchange strongly recommends that users do their best to protect their data from virus attacks, and access by third parties, by taking all the necessary measures to exclude risks of electronic funds robbery. Such protection can be made by the correct configuration of home routers, installation of anti-virus software, enabling 2FA/Google Authenticator and creating a strong passphrase (Nova uses passphrases because they are easier to remember, but a LOT harder to break than passwords).

    Email, Passphrase and PIN.

    Change the email address:

Go to Account > Basic Settings, insert your new email and then verify it from your old one. If you cannot access the old email, you have to contact support.

    Change the passphrase:

Go to Account > Basic settings > press "change passphrase" button.

    Reset the pin code.

Go to Account > Basic settings > press the "change pin" button.

    Trollbox rules

The Trollbox, at the bottom right, is a great way for Nova users to get info. There is always at least one Nova moderator and/or Coin Master General in there, and often other users help each other out. It's a great free space. However(!) the following actions will result in permanently banning a user from the trollbox:

    a) Attacking users.

    b) Using phone numbers.

    c) Attacking or blaming Nova Exchange moderators/staff.

    d) Sharing malicious links.

    e) Sharing links to other exchanges.

    f) Spamming links.

    g) Using unacceptable language.

    h) Flooding the board.

    i) Passing out coins not listed on Nova Exchange.

    Withdrawals

  • What to consider before making withdrawals
  • The Withdrawal confirmation email
  • Withdrawal waiting time
  • Where can I monitor my withdrawal?
  • Where can I see my withdrawal History?
  • Are there any withdrawal fees?
  • Manual Withdrawal?
  • What is the daily withdrawal limit?
  • Before making withdrawals.

Before making the withdrawals it is VERY important to check:

    • That you inserted the correct address of the coin AND
    • That the address is intended for the correct coin and blockchain AND
    • To check the status of the coin.

In order to assure that your withdrawal will arrive to its destination and you won't lose your funds, please make sure that you make your withdrawal only when the green ticket symbol stating "All OK!" is enabled next to the coin. When a withdrawal has been confirmed through the confirmation e-mail, then that transaction is irretrievable. If the address was wrong, then there is NOTHING Nova Exchange can do about it. This is one case where we cannot help you if there was a mistake.

If you have any worries, do contact the support team.

    The withdrawal confirmation email.

Whenever you make a withdrawal a confirmation email will be sent to you.

IMPORTANT: You MUST click the verification link in the order email to proceed with the withdrawal. The transaction is irreversible once you click the link. Your confirmation email is valid for six hours. There is a slight possibility that your confirmation email ends up in your spam folder, so we recommend to always look for the confirmation email in your spam folder if at first you do not receive it. If you still cannot find an email, try cancelling the order and redo the withdrawal. If there seems to be any problem, and you need to ask some questions, do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

    Withdrawal waiting time.

Withdrawals (and deposits) might take a from a few minutes up to sometimes hours. On our end, we process withdrawals every 15 minutes, but you should be aware that crypto assets are fickle in some ways. It would be wrong of us to provide a single promise to cover all assets listed on Nova Exchange, because not all parts of the transaction process is in our hands. The time for a transaction to happen, depends entirely on the blockchain of that asset and how often new blocks are being found (See our Getting Started Tab).

This is a standard process that crypto assets follow in order to secure the authenticity of the transactions, and to prevent double spending possibilities. When delays happen on a blockchain there is very little or even nothing we can do, it is up to the network and/or the developers of the asset. If you have any worries regarding a withdrawal you should get in touch with us.

Where can I monitor my withdrawal?

To find your ongoing withdrawals, go to Account > Ongoing deposits and withdrawals. Every pending withdrawal and deposit should be visible there.

    Withdrawal History.

To find your withdrawal history go to Account > Withdrawal History.

    Are there any withdrawal fees?

There is a small transaction fee. This is required by the individual blockchain network, in order for any transaction to execute. The fee varies from coin to coin and this fee is paid by the user. Nova Exchange itself charges a fee of 0,0005btc.

    Withdrawal of high amounts

Nova Exchange has security layers to provide good user protection. If a user decides to withdraw a quite high amount of a certain coin, we will need to process the transaction manually. This process is quite quick and it is a routine to ensure the safety of your funds.

What is the daily withdrawal limit?

The daily limits for withdrawals is based on the level of identity verification of each user. In order to make daily withdrawals in excess of certain amounts, you might need to strengthen your relation to Nova Exchange via a KYC (Know Your Customer) process.

    Deposit

  • What to consider before making deposits.
  • Make a Deposit (IMPORTANT)
  • What is the deposit waiting time at Nova Exchange?
  • Are there any deposit fees?
  • Do you support debit or credit cards?
  • What to consider before making deposits.

It is very important to always check the status of the coin before making a deposit. In order to assure that your deposit will arrive to its destination and you won't lose your funds, please make sure that you deposit only when the green ticket symbol stating "All OK!" is enabled next to the coin.

    Make a Deposit (IMPORTANT).

Once you are logged in to your Nova Exchange account, go to Wallets > Balances. From there you will generate a deposit address to transfer the amount of that coin to your account - simply press the "+ Add" button to the left of the asset. Another option is to scroll down, expand the coins menu and find the "Deposit" option. From there you can generate a deposit address that you can use to transfer the specific amount of that coin to your account - There you will find a menu for every crypto asset that we support.

IMPORTANT: Please note that every crypto asset is different as they are using different blockchains and addresses, and depositing your asset to the wallet address of another asset will result in the LOSS OF YOUR FUNDS. It's like if you were throwing your cash into the wrong deposit box. Always DOUBLE CHECK that the depositing address is the correct one. Also Important!! Also check the Block height number on the exchange to make sure that your wallet is synced with the exchange wallet. If there is an issue or missmatch, please check the ann, bitcointalk or contact the developer of the coin for proper advice and guidance. A good and competent developer will help you get your wallet back on the proper blockheight if possible.

What is the deposit waiting time at Nova Exchange?

Deposits (and withdrawals) might take from a few minutes to some time hours. Crypto assets are sometimes fickle. It would be wrong of us to provide one promise to cover all assets listed on Nova Exchange, because not all parts of the process is in our hands. The time for a transaction to happen, depends entirely on the blockchain and how often new blocks are being found (See our Getting Started Tab). This is a standard process that crypto assets follow in order to secure the authenticity of the transaction, and to prevent a double spending possibility. When delays happen on a blockchain there is very little or even nothing we can do.

    Are there any deposit fees?

There are no deposit fees on Nova Exchange. However if you make a deposit, and record no trades for some time, your funds may enter our custody program and be subject to a small holding fee (or hodl-fee as crypto enthusiast like to call it).

Do you support debit or credit cards?

    At the moment, no.

    Two-Factor Authentication

  • What is 2FA (for example Google Authenticator)?
  • How to enable the 2FA?
  • I do not have a phone, can I enable 2FA?
  • What happens if I lose my phone?
  • What is 2FA (for example Google Authenticator)?

2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) is a single-use code that provides extra security compared to only using a traditional static password. The linked with your Nova Exchange application will provide a OTP (One Time Password) every 20 seconds for security reasons.

    How to enable the 2FA.

To enable this feature you need Google Authenticator, an app that is available for Android, iOS and Window devices. Once you download Google Authenticator application, you have to scan the QR-code on the activation page on Nova Exchange with your smartphone camera (or copy the 40 digit code below the barcode and paste it into the text box of Google Authenticator - keep in mind that this is your backup code, so make sure to save it somewhere safe in case you lose your device).

Once you succeed in linking Nova Exchange OTP-generator (One-Time Password generator) with your Google Authenticator, it will display a new 6 digit passcode every 20 seconds. You need to enter one of these passcodes into Nova Exchange 2FA activation page in order to activate this feature. Once activated it is used when logging in and performing certain tasks, like withdrawals.

    Watch an informational video here.

I do not have a phone, can I enable 2FA?

Yes you can. We recommend the smartphone app Google Authenticator because it is 100% reliable, however there are many other providers. You have to download a Windows/Mac/Linux Authenticator from the respective app store and connect it with your Nova Exchange account.

To connect, simply click enable Google Authenticator or go to Account >Google Authenticator Settings. From there insert manually the secret code below the square QR-code (make sure to save that in case you lose the device, as this is your backup code) into the authenticator application and then insert the 6 digit code that the application provides in your Google Authenticator Settings page so you can link them.

Keep in mind that the 2FA code that your application provides will change every 20 seconds for security reason.

What happens if I lose my phone?

If you have not saved the backup code, you will need to contact support and ask for help to reset the 2FA.

    Orders/Trades

  • About Buy- and Sell orders
  • What is the Order Book?
  • What is in the Market History?
  • What is an Open order?
  • About Buy- and Sell orders

After depositing your assets you can immediately begin trading. It is a quite simple and quick process to do a trade. We advise our users to always do research on the crypto asset that you are about to invest in.

Though the principles are quite the same, users must understand that this is an exchange platform where you place orders to buy or sell coins and not an actual shop. This means, that an order will become fulfilled only once another user agrees with the given price.

Bid, or Buy order, is what other traders are willing to buy. An order will execute only once another user decides to sell at the buying price.

Ask, or Sell order, is the selling price that users are asking from the buyers. Just like above, an order will execute only once a buyer decide to purchase at the given price.

Once you set an order, whether you're asking or bidding, it will spawn to the order book and be public to other traders.

*Do be careful when you trade as transactions cannot be reversed. A mistake is a mistake. A trade that has been executed is irreversible. Since this is all digital products they are regarded as consumed at the time of purchase.

    What is the Order Book?

In the order book you can see all the orders that users/traders are placing. Unless you cancel your order, it will stay in the order book indefinitely. What this means is that your funds, or a portion of them, will be pledged until the order is executed.

A buy order will be appear at the Bids/Buy Orders table, and a sell order will appear at the Asks/Sell Orders table.

What is in the Market History?

An order will appear in the market history once it's executed. The market history is always open and accurate, and users can see every trade has been made.

    What is an Open orders?

When you are trading, and place an order you are essentially creating an offer. When placing an order there must be a counterpart user that accepts the offer. This means that your transaction will stay in open position until another user accepts the price you are asking/bidding for the coin. If no user accepts your offer (either that is selling or buying price), you have to wait for it to get fulfilled, if ever, or cancel it. You will find your order in this page (or by going to the bottom down of the trading page you are when exchanging).
